Fly to Shanghai, the country’s biggest city and a global financial hub.
Upon arrival at Shanghai, you’ll be greeted at the airport and then transferred to your hotel.
The highlights of today’s sightseeing tour include the Yuyuan Garden, Shanghai’s old Street, the colonial styled Bund, and the Nanjing Road. The afternoon continues to Shanghai silk factory, and then Shanghai Museum where you have the opportunity to discover some of China’s priceless pieces of ancient art consisting of bronze, ceramic, jade and calligraphy.
After breakfast, drive to Zhouzhuang, the No.1 water town of the country. Zhouzhuang was first built by the King of Wu during the Spring and Autumn period (770-476 BC). It is noted for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views and the strong local colored traditions and customs. Here you will visit Shen Family Residents, Zhang Family Residents and the twin bridges. Then drive to Suzhou.
Suzhou, acclaimed as the “city of gardens”. The classical gardens in Suzhou have been added UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 1997 and 2000. Today you will visit the Lingering Garden (Liu Yuan), one of the four great gardens in China. The Silk Spinning Factory, where you can enjoy a silk fashion show. Finally ride a boat on the Grand Canal before being taking a high speed train to Hangzhou. Upon arrival, be met and transfer to check in at the hotel.
This morning you will visit Lingyin Temple, literally translated as Temple of the Soul’s Retreat. The monastery was founded in 328 AD during the Eastern Jin Dynasty by monk Hui Li, who came from India. It is one of the largest and wealthiest Buddhist temples in China, and contains numerous pagodas and Budddhist grottoes and also features a large number of grottos and religious rock carvings, the most famous of which is the Feilai Feng. Then take a leisurely boat ride on West Lake, one of the most beautiful scenic spots in Hangzhou. You’ll see the ethereal beauty of Hangzhou’s willow – draped islands, and then admire the Su Causeway. Stop for a taste of China’s most famous green tea – Dragon Well Tea at the Longjing Green Tea village. Finally transfer to the railway station for a high-speed train to Shanghai. Your Shanghai guide will meet you upon your arrival.
After breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your flight to home. Your trip ends.
