The flight backing to Guangzhou was at 16:00 and half day was left, so I planned to visit the Xian City Wall. After eating the pork sandwiched between flatbread and green bean porridge, the most famous local snacks of Xian, I started my short excursion.
When I came to Xian, my friends told me that the best way to visit City Wall is to ride a bike, which is quite comfortable, relaxing and convenient. It turned out to be true. I took a bus and got to the South Gate of the wall, where bicycle could be rented. I started climbing the wall from Yongning gate, one of southern gates of Xian City Wall. Standing on the wall, a panoramic view of this ancient city is captured, with antique architectures inner the wall and skyscrapers outside the wall. Both the unbeatable charm and time-weathered history of this city were also grasped at that moment.
I rented a bike and started cycling on the wall. It was so marvelous to ride the modern vehicle on the age-old city wall. I started from south wall, crossed east wall, west wall, north wall and returned to south wall finally. It cost me 70 minutes to circle around the 14-kilometer-circuferemced city wall. I appreciated the breathtaking scenery of this ancient city as riding around. On the way, I encountered many visitors from other countries and said hello to them with enthusiasm. After I finished my short excursion, I was so delightful because this riding experience offered me a great chance to get closer to this ancient city.
Riding on Xian City Wall rewarded me much both mentally and physically. With deep memory, I left Xian and head to board my flight to Guangzhou.
