The Jade Snow Mountain is the sacred mountain of the Naxi minority in Yunnan, and the patron saint of the Nanxi people is named Sanduo, believed to be the incarnation of Jade Dragon Mountain. Every year on February 8th in the Chinese lunar calendar, the Naxi people celebrate Sanduo Festival greatly to show their admiration for Jade Snow Mountain and Sanduo.

The Jade Dragon Mountain is the main attraction in the Big Jade Dragon Scenic Area, and there are still other attractions, such as Big Ropeway Area, Maoniuping Area, Yunshanping Area, Blue Moon Valley, Ganhai Lake, Dongba Valley, Yushui Village, Dongbafang Garden, impression of Lijiang performance, and others.

At nearly 3 miles (4,506 meters) high, the Big Ropeway is the highest peak of Jade Dragon Mountain, where you can touch the layered snow and crystal glacier of the mountain. Maoniuping area, over 2 miles (3,800 meters) high, is the second highest peak of Jade Dragon Mountain, where you can take in the view of 13 peaks on Jade Dragon Mountain, which is also the best place to see the sunrise and native wildflowers.

Yunshanping area is the ideal place to see the flanks of the mountain and expansive forest. It is much more suitable for those who are afraid of altitude sickness than some of the other popular sites. Ganhai Lake, nearly 2 miles (2,900 meters) high, is a wide meadow east of the mountain, which is also a great place to appreciate the mysterious Jade Dragon Mountain. In spring and summer, diverse plants grow vibrantly and herdsmen graze nearby, which makes Jade Dragon Snow Mountain an off-the-beaten path paradise.
