Lion Peak

Being the representative attraction situated in the back of Huangshan Mountain, the magnificent Lion Peak is another must-see for visitors. As its name suggests, Lion Peak is just like a crouching lion, with its head west-faced and tail, east-faced. With head raising toward Danxia Peak, the lion takes Qingliang Pavilion as its waist, Dawn Pavilion, its tail, and the site of Lion Forest Temple, its mouth. The Lion Peak is embraced by lofty legendary pines, gurgling hot springs and verdant pine forest all year round. The lion crouches on the summit of the lofty pines, more spectacular and grandeur. Seen from the flower-scattering temple and Beihai Hotel, the Lion Peak reveals particularly lifelike.

Standing on the Lion Peak, visitors could command the panoramic view of the Gongyang Mountain, Begin-to-Believe Peak and Bright Summit and the likes. Facing the boundless mountain ranges in the north, visitors would be refreshed in spirit and relieved from vexation. Sightseeing spots around the Lion Peak are numerous and closely distributed, which is a great getaway to watch sunrise and sea of cloud on Huangshan Mountain. On the right of Lion Peak lies the Flower-Scattering Valley, which is packed with picturesque rocks, grotesque peak, twisting legendary pines and clusters of flowers, gorgeous in spectacle and captivating in the scenery. What is more, in the vicinity of Lion Peak perches Beihai Hotel and many visitors stop there for rest when climbing the Huangshan Mountain. As a folk song in Huangshan City goes, no Huangshan trip is complete without visiting the Lion Peak.
