These warriors and horses depict the armies of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. They were built to protect the emperor in his afterlife. These fantastic statues were only discovered in 1974 by local farmers and contained warriors, chariots and horses. The Army is believed to hold more than 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots, 520 horses and 150 calvary horses. There are still soldiers buried in Qin Shi Huang’s nearby mausoleum.
