The People’s Bank of China has announced a 5th series of the 2015 edition of the 100 renminbi notes will be issued starting from November 12, 2015. The design of new 100 renminbi notes will make adjustments on some pattern on the basis of keeping the main pattern and colors of the 2005 edition unchanged to enhance the security features as a whole. We can see it has changes both on the front and back of banknotes.
On the front of the new 100 renminbi notes, it will cancel the intaglio line on the right of note, invisible denomination digital and optically variable ink digital in the botton left corner of note. The serial number and new security line will be added on the right of the note, compared with the previous note. Meanwhile, the 2015 edition of the 100 renminbi notes will also apply uneaven texture of the pattern across the portrait of Chairman Mao, Great Hall of the People, the national emblem, the name of the bank, the number of 100 in the upper right corner, and the Braille.
The more obvious changes include the shiny golden number “100″ printed on the front of new 100 renminbi note. The 5th series of the 2015 edition of the 100 renminbi notes have introduced new light changing technology, one of the best anti-counterfeit technologies on banknote security in the world, to make the notes more difficult to fake and easier for machines to read. Viewing the note at a perpendicular angle, the color of “100″ is mainly golden, but the color will change into green when look at the front horizontally. As the angle adjusted, the color will change between golden and green appearing a bright light rolled up and down.
With the development of economy, renminbi printing is more international. The new edition of the 100 renminbi notes remain design features of traditional banknotes, also show the distinct characteristics of the times highlighting “three large”: large portrait, large watermark and large denomination digital for for a good presentation and easy identification. On the back of note, main pattern design adopts the skills containing scenery combination, focus perspective and cavalier perspective, fully presenting Chinese cultural features. The 100-yuan note is the largest denomination of the Chinese currency. Chinese Central Bank has no plan for increasing the largest renminbi denomination from RMB 100 to RMB 500 or RMB 1000.
