Tips or gratuities are the main source of income of tour guides and drivers, and therefore you it is customary to leave tips during your China travels. You may tip the guide and driver according to the satisfaction of the service they offered.
It is not common to leave tips for waiters and bellboys in hotels or restaurants because their service charge has been included in the bills. Although tipping is commonplace, it is not compulsory and is completely done at your discretion.
The quotation offered by China Tour excludes tipping since the availability and amount of it is entirely decided by you. Since tipping can be a confusing matter, China Tour offers the following tipping standard for your reference.
We recommend USD $8 per traveler per day to cover all tour guides and bus drivers. The details about tipping will be offered in the final tour document when your tour is approaching.
Again, whether you tip, and how much, is totally dependent on your satisfaction with the service of our guides and drivers.
