My wife Janet & I recently returned from a Dream Come True 10 day adventure through South, Central, & North Vietnam with China Tours. We took 5 Vietnam Veterans who had served during the conflict over 50 years ago. Our China Tours guides were excellent, knowledgeable, spoke fluent English and Vietnamese, and helped to make this adventure memorable. We arrived in Saigon/Ho Chi Minh where our first guide greeted us at the airport, got us to our beautiful hotel and let us know our schedule of tours for the following few days. Over the next few days we were guided throughout Saigon, Notre Dame Cathedral, Saigon Post, The People’s Committee Hall, The Saigon Opera House, and Ben Thanh Market where you can purchase everything imaginable. We then visited the Cu Chi Tunnels Museum where some of our Vietnam Veterans had served during the conflict. It was a rewarding and inspirational visit for these veterans to see the area, crawl through some of the tunnels, and hear the stories of how people survived was really well told by the Vietnamese people.
We then flew to Danang and were joined by another excellent China Tours Guide at the Airport, who got us to our beautiful beach hotel, and gave us the itinerary for the next few days. We spent the following morning cycling along Vietnamese rural back roads, rode a water buffalo, and visited with a local farmer. After lunch we were treated to home-made bamboo basket boats up the river by local fisherman families. In the city of Hoi An there were many restaurants, cafés, and local artists and a unique blend of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese architecture.
We then headed North to the city of Hue, Hanoi and Ha Long Bay. The scenic drive from Hue to Hanoi was extraordinary. And, once we arrived in Hanoi, we were treated to a rickshaw ride through some of the old-town areas. We then toured through the Forbidden City of the Nguyen Dynasty, and the Tomb of Tu Duc one of Vietnam's last Emperors.
Our tour was coming to a close in Ha Long Bay a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Where we boarded an overnight cruise ship and cruised around the more than 3,000 limestone islands rising majestically out of the turquoise bay. We saw grand rock formations and visited caves that have existed for centuries. We also visited floating fishing towns where I got to row a Fisherman boat, and sample freshly caught fish and seafood...The crew of the boat were wonderful, professional, and greeted us warmly both when we arrived and as we departed.
The food was excellent, guides were top notch, tours were well designed and historically accurate, and overall we longed to stay in the friendly country of Vietnam longer! We give China Tours 5 out of 5 stars and two thumbs up, WAY UP!
We absolutely loved this tour! The flights were a little brutal but once we got there it was so worth it. Our guide in Bangkok, Monte, was simply wonderful. The city was vibrant and the temples unbelievable. We took a tour to a coconut farm and then a longtail boat ride to the floating market and the "Death Railroad" that I cannot recommend enough. Phuket and the Phi Phi Islands are like nothing I've ever seen. Stunning. My only wish would be one less day in Bangkok and one more in Phuket. The hotels, transportation and guides were all great! Can't wait to go back.
this was our first trip with a tour, first out of the country. we were happily pleased! all hotels included fantatic breakfast buffets and were top of the line accomodations. the tours were fun, educational, and we saw much more of what China had to offer than we could have seen on our own. The only "negative" would be that we would have liked to have more time at certain places, such as the Great Wall, the IMperial Gardens, but it was all in all a great trip! We did not get to go to X'ian, much to our disappointment, but this review is based on the rest of our trip to China through Chinatours
everything was perfect from the Air China flights(which treated us very well)
to the tour guides and the drivers. the motels were very nice (4 star or better)
once in a lifetime experience. loved seeing the Great Wall as well as the Imperial Palace. and all of the other sights. highly recommend China Tour for anyone interested in a great trip
Aside from meeting new people, the tour were terrific...from Mainland (US) airport to Beijing and Shanghai and vice-versa.Hotel accommodation is very good since they tried to book you with the best hotel in the area with good breakfast all the time.Tour guide were amazing.Highly Recommended.A160714106
My husband and two kids (ages 8 and 10 at the time), took our first trip to China in 2015. We traveled to Bejing, Souzshou, Hangszhou and Shanghai. The tour guides were friendly and knowledgeable. We especially liked our guide named Ivy in Beijing. She was super friendly and very nice and patient with our kids. We were a little worried about taking our kids on such a far trip but they did great and loved the experience. Also, the hotels were wonderful, comfortable and the food delicious. I would recommend ChinaTour to anyone looking to travel to China.
I explored different options for this tour package and saw reviews that promoted Chinatour.com as the best, so I purchased a package for my husband and myself. It was an outstanding experience, and our guide gave enough time for private reflection on the tour of the Terracotta Warriors as well as in-depth narrative about the culture in Xi'an. I would highly recommend this company--believe me, when I spend quality time and money to go abroad, I want a quality tour experience which Chinatour provides.
I went on the promotional tour which is a give away. You might wonder about the low price, but everything was top rate. I departed on Hunan Airlines from San Jose on a Dreamliner. All the hotels in China were top notch and superior to American hotels. Even the restaurants in the hotels were great from a buffet breakfast (included) to a buffet dinner (on your own). Included everything you need to see for your first trip to China - Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou. While some didn't like some of the tour places they took you to, they were all an experience reflecting Chinese culture - pearl museum, jade factory, silk factory, tea plantation, Chinese herbal shop. . .
Maggie did a wonderful job accommodating all of our family members for a two week vacation in June. Chinatour.com provided us a trip to Xian, Jiuzhaigao, Huanglong, Four Girls Mountain, Wolong, Chengdu, and more. Xi'an itself was a beautiful city where we were able to see the ancient, original capital of China and the terracotta soldiers.
During the trip we were also able to visit a panda reserve in Chengdu where we were able to feed pandas, clean their cages, and lunch was provided, all for a very reasonable price.
We did fun activities in every city we visited including visiting a Tibetan house, a face changing show, tea houses, museums, and lots of shopping. Amazing, life changing experience. I would highly recommend the work that Maggie does. She will definitely work with you to be flexible and give you exactly the experience you are looking for.
We've been on several international tours, and the one hosted by ChinaTours.com is still our favorite. We visited Beijing, Shanghai, Hangzhou, and Suzhou. It was extremely organized, fulfilling, and we stayed in top-notch hotels. Our tour guides were really professional, fun to be around, and easy to understand, as well. The only word of caution I would give is that if you go in the spring/fall, the hotels may not have turned on the AC yet and if you like to sleep in a cold environment, you may be out of luck and forced to use open windows. Besides this, our trip was flawless and we're very thankful for the hospitality that we were shown.
At any rate, I would strongly recommend visiting China through Chinatour.com.
