Day 1: Home to Beijing (In-flight Meal)

Day 2: Arrive in Beijing (In-flight Meal)
When you arrive at the Beijing Capital International Airport, your guide will pick you up and show you to your luxurious hotel.
Day 3: Experience Beijing
This day is filled with the contrasts between ancient and modern China. You’ll start with an American breakfast and spend the rest of the day experiencing two distinct cultures. The first stop of your sightseeing tour is the grand Tiananmen Square and the second one is the Forbidden City, the imperial palace for Chinese emperors from the Ming Dynasty to the end of the Qing Dynasty. There are nearly 1,000 buildings in the Forbidden City, which include almost 9,000 rooms. And the last top is at Summer Palace, where many emperors enjoyed a summer retreat during the Qing Dynasty. An authentic Peking Duck Banquet will be served in the evening.

Day 4: Explore Beijing
Today you’ll have the opportunity to see the Great Wall of China for yourself. Great Wall of China is one of the most incredible man-made wonders of the world, which spans from Hushan Great Wall in the east to Jiayuguan Pass in the west. Then visit the National Stadium, also called Bird’s Nest and the National Aquatics Center, known as Water Cube, which were built for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. At the Beijing Zoo, you’ll see some unique creatures up close, such as giant pandas, Golden Snub-nosed Monkey, and South China Tiger, etc. After dinner, enjoy a high level show - “Legend of Kung Fu, which has wowed and amazed audiences worldwide with its' unique combination of traditional martial arts skill, aerial ballet, dance and music.

Day 5: Beijing to Xi'an
You’ll have a very traditional experience today as you travel by rickshaw to Hutongs, the ancient alleys and lanes in Beijing. Next stroll around the exotic Lotus Flower Market. In the afternoon you’ll fly from Beijing to Xi’an. After enjoying the dinner, you’ll have the chance to experience the other cultural diversity in China and roam around the Muslim community, where the Great Mosque, one of the oldest, largest and best-preserved Islamic mosques in China is located.

Day 6: Explore Xi'an
The main highlights of today’s tour include the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum as well as the Bell Tower. The Terra Cotta Army was accidentally discovered by a group of farmers in 1974 when digging a well, which were put to guard Qin Shi Huang, the First Emperor of China in his afterlife. Bell Tower was constructed after the residents of Xi’an experienced a terrible earthquake. During the earthquake, many people died, and a lot of homes were lost. The tragedy was attributed to the dragon that normally resided in the nearby water, so the Bell Tower was built to alert the people if the dragon tried to approach land again. A feast of the Imperial Dumpling Banquet will be served after enjoying the unique Tang Dynasty Stage Show.

Day 7. Xi'an – Lhasa
In the morning, do not miss the landmark of Xian – the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, which was constructed in 652 during the Tang Dynasty to house the precious sutras brought by a famous monk Xuan Zang. Then, visit the Ancient City Wall with bicycle ride. Board your flight to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Lhasa standing at an altitude of 11,450 feet above sea level is one of highest cities in the world, which contains some of the most sacred Buddhist sites including Potala Palace, Jokhang and Norbulingka Palace.

Day 8. Lhasa
Today you’ll join the pilgrims from around the world by visiting the sacred Potala Palace, the home of the Dalai Lama for centuries. Potala Palace has been built up 12,000 feet, on the side of Red Mountain, officially called Marpo Ri, which was included on the World Heritage List in 1994. Then make an abrupt switch to the Barkhor Street Bazaar which is part stock exchange, part shopping horn of plenty. After this visual feast there will be a traditional Tibetan dinner and show.

Day 9. Lhasa
Today you’ll explore Jokhang Temple, the crown jewel of the Tang Dynasty which ruled from 618 until 907. Then, visit the Sera Monastery where debates take place regularly and visitors can attend them in the "Debating Courtyard. Next will be an in-person encounter with an actual Tibetan family. You’ll have the opportunity to find out how life in Tibet is lived on an everyday basis.

Day 10. Lhasa – Chongqing – Yangtze Cruise
Take a flight to city of Chongqing, which served as China's wartime capital during the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937–1945). If time permits, have a stop at the Ciqikou Old Street where you can see old wooden houses, teahouses, local shops, an old pier, and local Sichuan street performances. Enjoy the Chongqing Hot Pot dinner tonight. Later in the day, head to the docks where President Prime awaits to take you on our highly anticipated majestic Yangtze River adventure. The cruise departs in late evening.

Day 11. Cruise on Yangtze
The Yangtze River flow begins in the glaciers in the west, across the southwest and ends in Shanghai. The first shore excursion today will be 'Ghost City' Fengdu. In the evening, join the Captain's Welcome Dinner Party.

Day 12. Cruise on Yangtze
Sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest and most dramatic one of the Three Gorges as well as Wu Gorge, the most elegant and beautiful one. Disembark at Wushan where you board small riverboat for a leisurely ride through Shennong Stream, which offers clear running waters, picturesque rock formations, and even monkeys and goat along its banks. Pass through the Shiplock of the new three gorges dam.

Day 13. Yichang - Shanghai
In the morning, disembark to visit the massive Three Gorges Dam Project, the world's largest dam measuring 606 feet high and 6,500 feet long. Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest one of the Three Gorges. Disembark at Yichang, the terminus of our memorable Yangtze River Cruise; you’ll board a flight to Shanghai.

Day 14. Shanghai
Today you’ll penetrate the heart of China of the present and future – Shanghai, which has evolved from fishing and textile town settled in the 5th century to a global power in finance, high technology and even fashion. After soaking up the more commercial aspects on Old Street, Nanjing Road, and Lujiazui Financial Area, you’ll step back in time at the Shanghai Museum. Stroll around Bund, the symbol of financial power in China. In the evening, join the farewell dinner of Shanghai Cuisine followed with the world famous Acrobatic Show.

Day 15. Shanghai-Home OR Shanghai-Post-Trip Extension
Your memorial China tour ends today. You’ll pack up your belongings and board your homeward flight. If you want to experience more of China, we can arrange a Post-trip Extension with additional cost.
