  • China Transported 1.97 Billion People in Spring Festival of 2005 . The number of passengers reached 1.97 billion during China's Spring Festival transport season, a 40-day period. China's Lunar New Year is an important occasion for Chinese families to get a reunion. Among those passengers:
    - By railway: 145 million;
    - By car/bus: 1.79 billion;
    - By water transport: 27 million
    - By air: 12.6 million
